New Super Mario Brothers for the Nintendo DS ranks among some of the best Mario games of all time. Aside from Mario 64, Super Mario 3, and Super Mario World on the SNES, I would put New Super Mario Bros. at fourth best. A very respectable place to be in such a successful and long-lasted franchise.
For the fans of the Mario series, all of the staples of the franchise are there. The game is a classic sidescroller where you have to rescue princess peach from the clutches of Bowser (though he looks like Bowsers son or something). The game consists of eight levels all, but can be shortened to six levels by finding secret exits. Each level has a variety of different worlds such as ice worlds or sand worlds. The haunted house also makes a return and of course the castles where the end you must fight a variation of Bowser.
